The Spanish Air Force is set to equip some of its Airbus A400M military transport aircraft with specialist firefighting equipment, announced President Pedro Sánchez. The Roll-on/Roll-off system allows the aircraft to drop up to 20,000 liters of fire retardant in a single pass. The A400M firefighting kit has been successfully tested by the French and Spanish air forces. In addition to the A400Ms, the Spanish Air Force will also assign helicopters to firefighting tasks.
