Global Airshow Disrupted By Military Campaign Against Iran
The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) has been canceled for 2026 due to the ongoing use of RAF Fairford by the US Air Force for operations against Iran. The airshow, which was scheduled to run from July 17 to 19, 2026, had been built around a Fighter Meet theme and was expected to draw a strong contingent of new combat aircraft. The cancellation marks the first interruption to the show since 2020 and 2021, when COVID-19 forced two consecutive editions to be called off. According to AeroTime, organizers remain committed to returning in 2027 and have identified suitable fallback premises should the war continue into next summer.
