Defense Firms Partner for Low-Cost Munitions Program
The Pentagon has announced framework agreements with defense firms Anduril, CoAspire, Leidos, and Zone 5 to acquire over 10,000 low-cost, containerized missiles over three years starting in 2027. A separate agreement with Castelion lays out a plan for the purchase of hypersonic strike weapons. The agreements, which establish terms for future firm-fixed-price production contracts, may indicate a shift in the Pentagon’s procurement strategy. The development was first reported by Defense News.
