Task Force To Evaluate Adoption Of Frontier Models For Cyber Operations
The Pentagon is reportedly forming a task force to evaluate the adoption and weaponization of frontier cyber-capable AI models, including Anthropic’s unreleased Claude Mythos Preview, according to Politico and Gizmodo. The task force, announced by Cyber Command’s leader and NSA director Joshua Rudd, involves both Cyber Command and the NSA. The Pentagon had previously designated Anthropic a supply chain risk, which in theory prohibits Pentagon entities and contractors from using the company’s technology.
