NATO Unity Critical To Counter Russian Nuclear Capabilities
Norway’s Foreign Minister, Espen Barth Eide, warned that Russian nuclear weapons pose a direct threat to all American cities, emphasizing the importance of a unified NATO partnership to prevent such a scenario. Speaking at the NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs convention in Sweden, Eide cited the Kola Peninsula as a strategic site where Russia keeps most of its nuclear capabilities, which have the capacity to destroy almost all American cities. He also recognized Ukraine as a security provider with expertise in emerging technologies, such as drone and anti-drone warfare. The comments were made amid uncertainty surrounding the US’ military posture in Europe, as reported by Breaking Defense.
