Dutch Military Expands Deep Strike Capability Amid NATO Commitments
The Netherlands has initiated talks with the US government to procure additional AGM-158B Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Extended Range (JASSM-ER) weapons for its F-35 fleet. The move aims to replenish operational stocks and enhance the country’s deep strike capability. The Dutch Ministry of Defense has also signed a Letter of Acceptance for necessary software to enable the deployment of the Lockheed Martin-made missile. Additionally, the delivery of the first Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) frigate has been delayed to 2033 due to technical complexities. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
