Next Generation Systems Transform Performance And Efficiency
Melbourne Airport is transforming its baggage handling capabilities with a new high-capacity, tote-based system. The system, which will more than double the airport’s current capacity to approximately 4,000 bags per hour, is designed to improve efficiency, reduce congestion, and enhance the passenger experience. According to Jim Parashos, Chief of Aviation at Melbourne Airport, the new system will enable early bag-drop and more flexible check-in models, smoothing demand across the day and reducing peak congestion. This development was reported by International Airport Review.
