Experts Call For Increased Funding Amid Rising Demand
The US Special Operations Command is facing a critical funding shortfall, with its budget remaining flat since 2019 despite a 300% increase in demand for its capabilities. According to Adm. Mitch Bradley, the SOCOM commander, the command needs increased investment to meet the growing demands of competition, crisis, and modernization. Experts are calling for a budget increase to $24 billion by FY31, which would still be less than 2% of the overall defense budget. This was reported by Breaking Defense.
