Warfighters Can Now Buy Drones As Easily As On Amazon
The US Army has officially launched its unmanned aerial systems marketplace, allowing warfighters across the Defense Department, allied nations, and other government agencies to purchase drones easily. The marketplace, developed by Amazon Web Services and the Army Enterprise Cloud Management Agency, currently features 30 systems and plans to add more in the future. Vendors can respond to a commercial solutions opening to sell their products, and approved products can be rated by users on a scale of one to five stars. The Army is looking to add drones from various sources, including the Defense Contract Management Agency’s Blue List and the winners of the Gauntlet competitions.
