Service Leaders Work To Cut Red Tape And Train Units
The US Army is working to meet an Oct. 1 deadline to field small, one-way attack drones to every squad, with leaders evaluating ways to organize and train units, according to Col. Nick Ryan, director of Army UAS Transformation. The effort follows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s memo aimed at ramping up drone production and paring back restrictions. The Army is also addressing property accountability issues, including the removal of the blanket ‘durable’ term for small drones. This development was first reported by Breaking Defense.
