Fortem Technologies has been awarded a multimillion-dollar contract by the Department of Homeland Security to protect the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches in the US from hostile drones. The company will deploy its DroneHunter counter-drone systems at 11 World Cup venues, utilizing nets to intercept unwanted drones and non-kinetic technology to ward off airborne threats. This effort is part of a larger DHS initiative to secure American airspace, including a $115 million investment in counter-drone tech.
