Rival Developers Clash In Patent Infringement Dispute
Archer Aviation has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Vertical Aerospace, alleging that the UK-based company’s new Valo aircraft copies protected elements of Archer’s Midnight design. The complaint, filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims that Vertical infringed two US design patents and one utility patent tied to flight-control architecture and propulsion management. Vertical has denied the allegations, stating that it developed the Valo independently using its own proprietary technology. The lawsuit marks the latest intellectual property dispute in the eVTOL sector, with investors and regulators closely watching progress toward certification milestones.
