Turkey and Spain Seal Historic Defense Deal for 30 Hürjet Jets Worth $3 Billion

The Spanish Air and Space Force has signed an agreement with Turkish Aerospace Industries to purchase 30 Hürjet advanced jet trainers in a deal worth $3 billion. Deliveries are planned to begin in 2028, with maintenance-support infrastructure and long-term operational support also included. The agreement was announced on December 29, 2025, and marks a significant milestone for Turkish Aerospace, which described the deal as a ‘historic export success’. The contract also includes the development and implementation of a new combat training system by Airbus, which will replace the current F-5 aircraft fleet and provide advanced training for Spanish combat pilots.
