US President Seeks to Strengthen Economic Ties with Central Asian Nations

US President Donald Trump helped Boeing secure aircraft order agreements from three Central Asian airlines at the C5+1 Summit in Washington DC. Air Astana, Somon Air, and Uzbekistan Airways have all committed to purchasing Boeing aircraft, with Air Astana ordering up to 15 787 Dreamliners and Somon Air committing to up to 10 737 MAX 8 jets. Uzbekistan Airways converted options into a firm order for eight 787 Dreamliners. The deals are expected to support over 20,000 jobs across the US. The agreements were announced at the summit attended by leaders from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
