European Missile Defense Giant Expands Presence in Middle East
MBDA, a European missile defense giant, plans to open a new wholly-owned subsidiary in the UAE to develop loitering munitions and missiles. The subsidiary will leverage local capability and partner with EDGE Group and Calidus for integration of systems on their platforms. MBDA is also working with ASB Group to launch a thermal battery factory in the UAE. The move is seen as a strategic expansion of MBDA’s presence in the Middle East, where it has already established a Missile Engineering Center. The company cited the UAE’s Tawazun Council for supporting the move.
