US Government Rewards Patriots for Working Through Historic Shutdown
The US Federal Aviation Administration announced a $10,000 bonus plan for air traffic controllers and technicians who worked without pay during the recent 43-day government shutdown. The program aims to recognize the dedication of these employees, who kept the national air traffic system running despite the furlough. The Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy, announced the plan on X, stating that the payments will be issued in early December. The FAA said all recipients must have perfect attendance during the shutdown. The idea originated with a tweet by US President Donald Trump, who praised those who worked every day as ‘GREAT PATRIOTS’.
