Etihad Airways Expands Airbus Fleet with 32 New Widebody Aircraft

Etihad Airways has signed commitments for 32 additional Airbus widebody aircraft, including A350-1000s, A350Fs, and A330-900s, at the Dubai Airshow 2025. The airline has also secured 13 more jets through a leasing agreement with Avolon. Deliveries are set to start in 2027. The expansion is part of Etihad’s plan to increase its total new widebody acquisitions for 2026 to 60 aircraft. The airline’s CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, highlighted the A350’s excellent fuel efficiency and low downtime, while Avolon CEO Andy Cronin welcomed the decision as a strong endorsement for the A330neo program.
