Emirates SkyCargo Partners with LODD Autonomous for VTOL Cargo Solutions

Emirates SkyCargo and LODD Autonomous Form Alliance to Explore Next-Gen Air Cargo Solutions

Emirates SkyCargo has partnered with LODD Autonomous to explore the development and deployment of next-generation air cargo solutions. The partnership, announced during the Dubai Air Show, aims to validate the use of Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft across Emirates’ global network. LODD Autonomous is developing a hybrid heavy-lift cargo aircraft called Hili, which has completed its first test flight. The program will run until 2027 and focus on feasibility studies, regulatory engagement, and live demonstrations. Emirates SkyCargo’s Divisional Senior Vice President, Badr Abbas, said the partnership reflects the airline’s commitment to introducing innovative products that solve customer transportation challenges. The UAE’s CEO of LODD Autonomous, Rashid Mattar Al Manai, added that the collaboration will accelerate the adoption of drone-powered solutions that expand reach, cut delivery times, and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global logistics hub.
