Brazilian Aerospace Firm Shifts Focus to UAE for C-390 Completion Center
Embraer, the Brazilian aerospace company, has abandoned plans to establish a final assembly line for its C-390 Millennium airlifter in Saudi Arabia, opting instead to pursue a similar facility in the UAE. The decision comes after Embraer signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saudi Arabian Military Industries in 2023. The company is still exploring a potential final assembly line in the US, where it has partnered with L3Harris to expand its presence. Embraer’s C-390 remains a contender for the US military’s airlifter needs, particularly for air refueling and cargo transport. The company is also developing a boom refueling rod technology for the US market, which could enhance its competitiveness.
