Textron Aviation Defense announced plans to assemble the Beechcraft M-346N in Wichita, Kansas, if awarded the Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS) contract by the U.S. Navy. The program is expected to create 100 direct manufacturing jobs and invest $38 million in existing manufacturing space. The U.S. Navy has issued several Requests for Information ahead of an anticipated Request for Proposals for the UJTS program. The announcement was made by Travis Tyler, president & CEO of Textron Aviation Defense, and was supported by U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Ron Estes.
